For 100 years, NARPO has provided an important voice for retired police officers\u00a0across England and Wales, as well as their widows, widowers and former partners.<\/p>\n
Representing more than 89,000 members, NARPO is one of the largest public sector pensioner organisations in the country. Its aim is to safeguard the rights of members and to promote measures for their welfare, with particular regard to pensions. Formed in 1919, NARPO is a branch-led organisation with headquarters in Wakefield. Governance is provided by a National Executive Committee (NEC), who are elected on a regional basis. Rules and policy are considered at the annual NARPO conference, held in September.<\/p>\n
As part of the campaigning group Later Life Ambitions, NARPO works in partnership with the\u00a0National Federation of Occupational Pensioners and the Civil Service Pensioners\u2019 Alliance to\u00a0support older people to lead active and independent lives. Through this partnership NARPO\u00a0has a strong voice, with Later Life Ambitions\u00a0bringing together over a quarter of a million\u00a0pensioners.<\/p>\n
As part of NARPO\u2019s work with Later Life Ambitions we campaign for fair pensions, safe and\u00a0sustainable care services, accessible housing and services to promote independence.<\/p>\n
